I see that Brett Favre is continuing his farewell tour in the NFL. My guess is that he plans to play one season for every team before he REALLY retires. Of course, he’ll be in his 70s by the time he’s done, but he’s tough enough to take it!
And to think I once [...]
I’m still trying to get used to the fact that Mine That Bird won the Derby, paid a gazillion dollars, and I didn’t bet on it. Maybe it was because I hadn’t even heard of him before post time.
The day after the race, one of the local stations replayed an interview taped with a woman [...]
The Kentucky Derby is tomorrow. It’s supposed to rain, so I’m glad I’ll be watching it from home. None of the horses running this year have really knocked my socks off, though I find it quite funny that Jenny Craig owns a horse called “Chocolate Candy.” You’d think it would be named “Celery Stick.”

My men’s NCAA bracket tanked in the Sweet 16 after my best start ever.
I didn’t do a bracket for the women’s tournament.
Nevertheless, I have been rooting hard all along for the Lady Cardinals (is this “Lady” business a Southern thing? I don’t remember hearing it much till I moved here).

You know you’ve been watching too much March Madness when your latest earworm is the CBS Sports theme music.
I am rather proud to boast that with 15 teams alive in the Sweet Sixteen, I am in the 99.4 percentile of ESPN’s Tournament Challenge.
Of course, with over 5 million entries, that means that there are over 27,000 fans ahead of me…
I am so excited that Louisville is the overall number 1 seed in the NCAA tournament!
Excited and nervous. That’s an awful lot to live up to. Here’s hoping they go all the way! I did go with my heart and have them winning my bracket.

I am happy to announce that yesterday the Colgate Raiders came back from a 10 point halftime deficit to beat Holy Cross for the Patriot League football championship! As is only fitting for a school in upstate New York, they played in the snow.
Five years ago Colgate was runner-up for the I-AA national championship. The [...]
