Back in November, our 17 year old stove was almost dead, and we bought a new one.
Back in January, our 14 year old washer died, and we bought a new one.
Yesterday afternoon, I put a load of laundry in the dryer. Several hours later, I realized it was still running. The clothes were dry, but apparently they had air-dried, as the dryer is no longer giving off heat. I’ve had that happen before when half the breaker goes off, but no such luck this time.
Too bad appliance stores don’t give out frequent buyer cards.

Rats. But at least your washer/dryer will be more of a matched set. *always looking for a silver lining here!*
Oh noooooo!! Our dryer died last year I think it was. I’ve blocked it from my mind. I had to make one too many trips to the laundromat.
No matched set here. We went high tech with a front-loading HE washer. The dryer is more basic, but highly rated. They’re not even the same brand!
Yeah, our house does not react well to dryers, dishwashers, etc… speaking of which, you know our dishwasher, the one we spent 6 months researching, hemming and hawing about…yep, it’s broken, damnit!
Our dryer and washer are soooo old. They still work, however. No excuses for buying modern ones. I’d love a dryer that steams clothes.
But, at least the ones we have are not the ancent avocado green we used to harbor.
