If it’s good for a category name, it’s good for a blog post title, right?
We’re on spring break here. Unlike last year’s trip to Florida, this year we are sticking close to home.
Some friends, however, took a short trip and BD and I have been dog-sitting for them. Their dog is named “Angel” and she usually lives up to her name. However, their daughter’s dog is also there. His name is “Niles,” but it may as well be “Demon.” He’s a small, yappy terrier of some kind. Getting him inside for the night has been an adventure. Thank goodness they’re coming home today.
Last night, of course, was the NCAA basketball championship. I thought I would root for Memphis, despite the fact that Sheraton’s “famous rivals” ad shows a Louisville fan and a Memphis fan sharing a computer. Somehow they must have missed the fact that U of L left Conference USA three years ago and the teams no longer play each other. Or is it no coincidence that the Memphis fan is the only one in the commercial that doesn’t have the team name plastered on his shirt? He’s wearing a plain blue shirt, which is why I assumed he was a University of Kentucky fan the first 18 times I saw it. Closer inspection (after HS pointed it out) shows a Memphis Tiger on his hat. Turns out UK declined to participate in the ad.
But I digress. Sometime during the first half, I decided I’d rather root for Kansas. For those thinking I jumped on the bandwagon after the fact, I can have Mr. B attest to the fact that the score was tied when I made my change. To be honest, I didn’t care that much who won, but I like to have a rooting interest when I watch a game.
But my interest wasn’t enough to keep me glued to the tube without some kind of distraction. I decided it was a good night to catch up on the ironing. Apparently, it had been awhile since I had tackled that task. In the pile I not only found two Hawaiian shirts I’d worn for a retreat back in January, I also found myself ironing a Christmas shirt.

Hi, I found you on a blog roll in The Iceland Weather Report.
I liked the Kentucky connection. I’m living in Wales, was born in Dayton, but lived near or around Crab Orchard, Kentucky (Lincoln County) since 1982.
I’ll be visiting Lexington while on holiday in the States this coming month.
Really, just saying thanks for a feeling of home.
The hubby thought it would be good family fun if each of us filled out a bracket when March Madness started. Teen #1 and I thought it was unfair, since we don’t follow basketball. Funny thing is, I won. I picked Kansas to win it all! #1 came in 2nd. Unfortunately, there was never a “prize”, it was just for bragging rights. So “I WON”! is all aI get!
