Yawn

All four number one seeds in the Final Four? It may be historic, but it’s also boring. I don’t care about any of these teams.
Thank goodness the baseball season has started.

My Latest Excuses for Not Posting

Busy filling in for the Easter Bunny, who refused to work this early in the year.
Getting ready for the church’s semiannual children’s consignment sale.
Following (via TV, not in person, unfortunately) the U of L Cardinals (men AND women) to the Sweet 16!
Attending a celebration of life.
Meeting with the insurance adjuster.
Working on the bathroom.
Tingling in my [...]

Happy Easter!

Without a doubt, the coolest thing about Easter is the Resurrection.
But this bunny is pretty cool, too:

As is this one:

They are hidden inside these sugar eggs that my mother-in-law made for the kids. Good thing they have an artistic grandmother, because their mother is sorely lacking in this sort of talent.

Easter By the Numbers

I was shopping for Easter goodies yesterday. I usually don’t wait this late, but Easter crept up on me this year, falling earlier than usual.
I find the Easter calendar fascinating. Sometime ago I learned that it falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox. I would [...]

Mourning and Rejoicing

One of my very favorite people died today.
He was 92 years young.  He worked full-time (as a mechanical engineer, no less) till a few months ago when ill health forced him to part-time.  I’m sure there were some work files by his bed at the very end.
He taught Sunday School until last month.   When he [...]

Soggy Day

At least, I’m listening to it when I’m not up in the attic crawl space checking to see if any of that rain is coming through the roof.
Old Eagle [...]

Dog Bites Girl

Girls cut through strangers’ yard.
Little dog sniffs first girl.
Little dog bites second girl.
Second girl offhandedly mentions bite to mother an hour later.
Mother Googles dog bites.
Mother takes daughter to immediate care center.
Mother reaches dog owners and is relieved to learn shots are up to date.
Medical team cleans dog bite and prescribes antibiotics.
Mother tells daughter to stay [...]

Thought for the Day

If you schedule your March mortgage payment by electronic transfer, you might want to make sure that you haven’t already set up the whole year as automatic transfers, or you may end up making your April payment a month early and requiring some fancy financial management to make it through the rest of the month.

Star Power

No one asked why I chose to come to upstate New York in the wintertime. So I’ll tell you.
Several months ago my sister told me that her son (aka my nephew AND godson) was trying out for the spring musical at his high school. While he’s done some acting, including playing the lead [...]
