I must say that Louisville looked pretty darned good in Extreme Makeover last night. I suspect the show got the same kind of local ratings as a U of L Final Four appearance. Maybe better, since even the UK fans were probably watching.
Having seen a lot of local (and even national) coverage of the Hughes family, it was nice to learn a little more about the mom and brothers, since they tend to stay in the background (quite possibly by choice).
I will say that I found ABC’s permanent ad for the Oscars broadcast on the screen rather annoying. And having only seen the show a couple of times before, I was amazed at the number of product placements. But since these companies are donating items to a good cause, I won’t complain. One cracked me up, though. A designer apparently flew from Louisville to Nashville on Southwest Airlines. It’s a 2.5 hour drive. Since Southwest offers no direct flights between those cities, I really doubt he took a commercial flight.
All in all, the house is way cool. And so is the family. Now that the veil of secrecy about the house can be lifted, they are offering a home tour to raise money for the Visually Impaired preschool that Patrick Henry attended.

Yep, EHM is big on producy placement, but I don’t mind. If I was giving a bajillion bucks towards something, I’d want my product placed, too.
I wonder if the musical floor in the one kid’s room can be turned off…that would get annoying at 3 a.m….
I’m not one for watching tv much, but I remember you mentioned this before. What a tear jerker. Thanks for the reminder.
