Only in Kentucky

Today our part of the world is a snowy, icy, rainy mess. The other day, however, was so glorious (40s and sunny now qualifies for that distinction), that I went for a walk near a local horse farm.

I noticed one of the farm trucks parked far ahead of me in the road. Then I realized that it was actually moving, but at a snail’s pace. Or rather at a horse’s walking pace. Because in front of the truck was a horse, being led right down the street by a man holding her halter.

I wish I’d asked him what the story was. Instead, I’ve been using my imagination. It could just be that the worker wanted to enjoy the pretty day and walk her to a new location instead of messing with a horse trailer. Or perhaps the mare had made a break for it, jumped the fence, gotten caught and was now being led back to her pasture. Or maybe she has an identity crisis and think she’s a dog to be walked on a leash.

Any other ideas?

Nope, I’ve got ‘nothing, but I like your imagination a whole lot better ;o)

It’s finally snowing here in Jersey. I hope it lasts. Uh-oh, now I’m wondering if we ever DID buy that snow shovel, this year?
