What’s Up, Doc?

As you may recall, I had to switch doctors last year due to an insurance change.
Several months later, my new doctor closed up shop and moved out of town. Her parting letter assured patients that a replacement was on the way.
The replacement apparently got a better offer, because she never materialized.
So here I am, [...]

Updated!

My friend and blog-queen Annie has updated me to Word Press version something-or-other. I got some pretty funky stuff when I first pulled it up after the update, so if this page looks all squirrelly, try hitting the “refresh” key. Apparently, your cache may be confused, and we certainly don’t want any confused [...]

Thought for the Day

If you delete a user account and XP shows you a message about saving that user’s files in a folder on your desktop, that message is a prompt, not a promise.  Save them yourself as XP is not going to do it automatically.

Pajama Day

It’s 3:30 PM.  Do you suppose I should get dressed before BD gets home from school in a few minutes?

Thought for the Day

Physically, on the other hand, I’m worn out.

And What Will You Be Doing This Holiday Weekend?

Several years ago I served on a ministry team for a retreat in a women’s prison.  I wrote about it here.
This weekend I am working on a similar retreat.  But this may be even more intimidating than the prison one.  This time I will be spending 3 days confined in a retreat center with over [...]

Wordless Wednesday: Overstuffed

Uber-recycling

My mother-in-law crocheted a tote bag for BD’s birthday. Looks nice, doesn’t it?

Believe it or not, the bag is made from plastic grocery sacks, cut into strips.
With the current trend of taking reusable bags to the supermarket, I’m thinking these are an especially appropriate kind to use.
If I knew how to crochet, I’d [...]

Oops, I Did It Again

Once upon a time, I almost burned down the house by setting the oil in a wok on fire. You can read about it here.
Yes, I did the exact same thing again. This time Mr. B was also in the room, and we were BOTH on computers with our backs to the stove. [...]
