Seems like I write about Christmas music almost every year (though apparently I missed last year). So here are a few thoughts I’ve had on the subject this year.
Whenever I heard Elvis Presley singing “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” I always think that it can’t really be him singing. It must be some over-the-top Elvis impersonator.
I read that Josh Groban’s Christmas album is the top selling album of the year and is the first Christmas album to ever be #1 for four weeks. Apparently I am the last person in the U.S. to have never heard Mr. Groban sing. I’m sure he’s very talented.
To date this year I have not heard “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer” or “Snoopy’s Christmas.” The holiday season is not complete.
I finally gave up waiting for someone to buy me “Harry for the Holidays” from my Amazon wish list and bought it for myself. I like it, but it will not replace “When My Heart Finds Christmas” as my favorite Christmas album.

Seriously, you’ve never even heard a Josh Groban song? He is wonderful…even when he sings in Italian and I don’t understand a word! I bought Noel…his Christmas CD and I just love it. You should give it a listen!
You’ve never hear Josh Groban? Truly, you are missing out on one of the greatest talents ever. He has one of those voices that can break your heart (in a very good way) and bring tears to your eyes.
We played one of his songs at my father in law’s funeral–”To Where You Are”–and while the song itself was wonderful, it was his voice that made it perfect. My MIL plays it once in a while when she’s alone and has herself a good cry
And I know you’ve never heard Dwight Yoakam’s Christmas crooning either… Tsk Tsk…
