Right now I’m giving thanks for the fact that Mr. B is handy with housework as we are expecting 6 guests for the weekend (7 if you include HS, which I really don’t) and the house is in a state of chaos. And though these are all the kind of guests who would be happy to pitch in and cook, none of them are arriving till around lunchtime tomorrow, by which point the bulk of the prep work needs to be finished. Luckily, HS is an exception, and I plan to put him to work in the kitchen as soon as he arrives tonight. Of course, if sees this post, he may change plans and come tomorrow, too. BD’s a good sous-chef, too, so I should be okay. I won’t push Mr. B, since our long-standing rule is that those who cook don’t have to do dishes, and I want him available for that daunting task.
But I am mostly thankful for friends and family. I know it sounds trite, but it’s true, so tough luck if you don’t like it. OK, I’m also thankful (in no particular order other than stream-of-consciousness) for my home and the cats and reliable cars and enough money to live fairly comfortably and our wonderful church family and the mild winters in Kentucky and ice cream and on-line shopping and living in a free country and hot showers and chocolate and too many other things to mention.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Don’t forget a comfortable bed, which I could use right now. Happy Thanksgiving!!
KY weather is certainly milder than it used to be, or so it seems to me. I’m not complaining, just saying!
