Election Day

Hallelujah!  All this junk is history, at least till the 2008 primaries.

Nevertheless, I did my civic duty and voted.  Except in the judicial races that I hadn’t realized existed.  I knew of two of them and was prepared to vote in those.  The rest I had to pass on.

I also passed on a couple of local incumbents who were running unopposed.  They are not to be confused with several other unopposed incumbents for whom I happily hit the “enter” button.  These are the two for whom I nearly changed my party affiliation so I could vote against them in last spring’s primary.

I think next time I’ll select the write-in option, and then write in “none of the above.”  What do you think?

I skipped the vote for “freeholder” because I still can’t figure out what they do (besides raise my property taxes.) Also we had a few questions on re-allocating state funds, I skipped those, too.

Did you have the computerized voting this year? We did, I really liked it! I was in and out in a matter of minutes too, which was great. And I am SO glad the campaign mudslinging is over!

Please don’t do that. “None of the above” has exactly the same impact as a blank — none — but is far more difficult to deal with. The poor folks (like me) who spend election night counting write-ins would be much more sympathetic if you voted for an actual human. Better yet, help persuade someone run against the bozos you don’t like.
