Wanted: Missing Blog Posts

I used the WordPress-generated number in the title of my previous post. 

I trusted WP to be able to count.

But after it told me that I was writing post #812, I noticed that my dashboard summary tells me that I have 781 posts.

So where are the 22 32 (I can’t count, either) missing posts?  Could they be the ones I hid as “private” when a certain family member, who shall remain nameless, took exception to my sharing some of her pre-teen angst with the worldwide web?  Could they be ones I deleted after deciding they weren’t worth writing after all?

Or could someone have stolen them?  Whatever it is, I’ll be watching very carefully from now on.

    I use WordPress as well and I believe the missing posts are the posts you delete. But I have also experienced this odd post number phenomenon!
