What I’m Reading

I just finished The Memory Keeper’s Daughter by Kim Edwards. It’s an intriguing book about what secrets can do to a family. Much of the novel is set right here in Kentucky. It’s her first novel, though she published a book of wonderful short stories a few years ago. She is a very gifted writer, as evidenced by both the novel and the short stories.

I love to read, but rarely buy books any more. There are so many good ones out there that I seldom spend time re-reading and can’t justify the expense. I’m a big fan of the public library and borrowing from friends. I was disappointed earlier in the year to find that my favorite lending source has decided she can no longer support her book-buying habit, either.

But I bought this one. And I recommend that you do, too.

And not just because the author is an old friend of mine.

I will have to write down the books name and author….maybe I’ll actually go to the library and get it. Save myself some $$$!
