Kentucky law requires that the license plate design be changed every five years. I’m not sure why. Perhaps to keep prison inmates busy.
Recent designs have been mostly unremarkable. Churchill Downs’ twin spires, a horse, and then a cloud (after a couple of years, I realized that the cloud was shaped like Kentucky.
