Our trip was lovely, with the possible exception of the drive back to Chicago to catch our flight home out of Midway. Mr. B actually had to work part of the time (that’s the trick to getting the company to pick up the tab, of course), so I slept in and worked out (really!) in the mornings. We did go back to our favorite little artsy, historical town one day and dined al fresco by the river one evening. We also had some wonderful frozen custard, but mostly we just relaxed.
We got home last night, and were going to head up to Cincinnati for a ballgame today. One problem is that the Reds are playing the Cubs and I’m a bit torn in my loyalties. The other problem is that it’s beastly hot, so we’re going to wimp out and doing something that doesn’t require a 100 mile drive and sweating.

When you say y’all dined al fresco, you DO mean outside, right? You were fully clothed, I assume. Otherwise, I figure we would have read about you in the paper or something!
Glad you had a good trip & glad you got back safely!
Frozen custard. It just so happened that Thursday nite, My First Wife and I took a buncha grandkids to Culvers. A bunch of them are popping up all around The Big City. A good time was had by all.
I’m glad you’re back. I enjoy reading your stuff.
