No Joy in Mudville

Last year a big storm knocked out our power just before the first pitch of the All-Star Game.

No such luck this year, and I got to watch the American League, which hasn’t even played real baseball since 1973, beat my beloved Nationals for the eighth year in a row.

I hate the DH. But living in Dallas that is what we have, so it puts me in a difficult position. The end result is I watch a lot on TV and rarely go to the game.

It sort of seems silly when I put it like that.

Did I mention I hate the DH?

    AL wins! AL wins!

I’ll give up the DH if Bud Selig will give up interleague play. (Actually, I’d give it up anyway.)

Finally, I can’t watch the All Star Game, even with a DVR. ~ 45 minutes to the first pitch?

Thanks for the advice/comments. This site is beautiful. I LOVE the picture at the top and the fonts you’ve used.
Not into baseball, so no comment on that. :-)

    I love baseball. I’m a Yankee fan. Here’s the reason why: http://douglasaz.blogspot.com/2004_08_03_douglasaz_archive.html

And, oh by the way, Scott Brosius and my son spent a lot of time together when they were pre-teens.

I don’t care who wins the All-Star game. I like to watch ‘em all.

My all-time favorite player is Pudge Rodriquez. I saw the first pro game he ever played and I said to my son-in-law: “That guy is a Hall of Famer!”

Mickey Mantle and I were good friends when we both lived in Dallas. (Long after he retired.)

There have been 2 rule changes since pro baseball was begun. One is the DH? Do you know the other?
