Just realized that I never posted about my Derby pick. So here goes: I think Giacomo is the most overlooked horse in the field and stands a good chance at winning.
Yeah, right. I never heard of the horse till he won. Trust me on this, though–no Triple Crown this year!
But the Derby party was a big success, even if certain people drank too many mint juleps.

Not me. I think they taste like nasty cough medicine.
This ends our extended Kentucky Derby coverage. Tomorrow we will return to our regularly scheduled blogging.

Some drinks stick around only because they have a cool sounding name.
I too was disappointed in my mint julep.
I enjoyed my visit over at your place and will return I came by from Michele’s to say hello Enjoy Mother’s Day tomorrow and thank you for picking up the one I missed. I type so slow that three can finish and post before I do.
G’day,
Visitng again via Michele’s M&G. We have a race here in Melbourne that stops the Nation called the Melbourne Cup. I have heard of the Kentucky Derby, winners are grinners
Sounds like fun. I’ll be looking for Giacomo in the winner’s circle!
That’s a cool looking drink. I’ve never tried one becasue I dont think I would like it. Sounds like you had a great day:-)
My brother in law writes plays, and the one he just finished writing is called… well, I forget the whole title, but it’s Blah Blah Giacomo.
Not being a stupid man, when he saw there was a horse named Giacomo running, he saw it as a good sign that he should place a bet. Giacomo W/P/S.
I’m just ticked off he didn’t call us about this wonderful coincidence so we could get in on it too!
I made Margaret bring me home a mint julip after her Derby party at work. The more watered down it became the better it was. I don’t see how anyone can actually drink enough of them to get tipsy. They’re so sweet it’s a one drink limit for me.
