A Chip Off the Old Block

I just put BD to bed. She has just recently starting asking that I shut her door (at least most of the way) at night. I may have figured out why tonight.

When she wasn’t looking, I confiscated the flashlight she had hidden next to a book by her bed.

That’s my girl! Makes me so proud I could almost cry.

I was a clandestine reader, too. I used to love hiding under the covers with my flashlight and a book. How strict are you gonna be about this, MOM ;) ?

Well, I didn’t actually HIDE the flashlight. I’m sure she’ll find it…or another one. No sense worrying about how much sleep she gets till school starts up again.

Sleep or no sleep, any kid who likes reading so much you have to pry books away from them will probably do okay in school. –kewms

    What a precious child!

Then again, we can only hope she’s not reading ‘Machine Gunner Today’ or ‘Bombs for Babes.’

What I forget to mention is that any other time of day, I have to beg, nag or bribe to get her to pick up a book.
