BD looked great as a “diva” for Halloween. She had an especially cool hate, but she lost it in the dark before her first trick or treat stop.
October 31, 2004 – 2:30 PM
It’s not every Halloween that starts with Sunday School and church. At least it helps keep things in perspective. Not that I’ve ever been one who thinks of Halloween as a “pagan” holiday. I just think of it as a time for kids to dress up in costumes and go trick or treating (and for [...]

This is our first election campaign with Caller ID, and I must say that I’m loving it. Whenever I see “Private” show up, I just ignore it, wait for the voicemail indicator, and delete the message. It annoys me no end that the “no call” lists don’t apply to political parties.
This week I saw a [...]

I find the end of the World Series as anti-climatic as the day after Christmas. I mean, what am I supposed to do with myself now?
Let’s see–today’s agenda was Bible study, Target, quick lunch with Mr. B at Quizno’s, and Kroger. Home for a bit, now I’m off to the library and the post office (shhhh, I’m [...]

Wow! 8 straight wins and the Red Sox are world champions. Maybe they’ll all use some of their World Series winnings and have Team Day at a mens’ day spa. Nah….
Watching games by yourself (BD was asleep and the cat doesn’t count) is not ideal. I called Mr. B three times during the game last night, and [...]

I survived attended BD’s chorus concert performance. Call me old-fashioned, but I figure a chorus concert should consist primarily of the chorus members singing songs. This production, which is also going to be presented at a Kentucky principals’ conference, was an odd concoction of modern dance, Orff instruments, and dialogue read from scripts. They only [...]

Has the curse been reversed? Having been the first major league team to come back from an 0-3 deficit, I can’t see the Red Sox becoming the second team to lose after a 3-0 advantage. The Cubbies, maybe, but not the Sox. Not this year.
October 26, 2004 – 8:08 PM
That’s now the color of the hallway. I finished painting it just in time to sit down and relax with a beer and the Red Sox. Big question of the night: do I drink a Sam Adams (only if you’re over 21) Boston Lager in their honor, even though I don’t really care for it?
Probably [...]

Came downstairs this morning and realized we’d left the garage door open all night. The light was on, too, so I’m hoping that deterred any wild critters from renting a U-Haul and moving in.
Yesterday’s final wasp body count: 33. I’ve got a message in to an exterminator.
It’s picture day at school. BD wanted to put her [...]
