Greetings from the Keystone State

We’ve been visiting Mr. B’s family for the past week. Great people all, but I will be happy to be home tomorrow. I’ll be especially happy to sleep in our own bed again!

I did have a road trip this week, driving to the outlets in Flemington, NJ to meet my friend N. We had a great time, and I even went to the Pfaltzgraff outlet and replaced the rim soup bowl HS dropped a couple of months ago. Also got a terrific deal on a swimsuit and coverup at LL Bean, which will be an even better deal once I drop 10 pounds and look better in it. I was a bad influence on N, convincing her to have dessert at lunch and then to buy a utensil holder at Pfaltzgraff that she didn’t want to pay full (outlet) price for. But worst of all was when I made a left turn out of the parking lot as we were leaving. She thought it was a right turn but followed me anyway (I will point out that she’s known me for 19 years and should have known better!). I realized pretty quickly I’d goofed, but drove on for a couple of miles thinking I might see a route I recognized. Once I realized I was out in the country (yes, there is country in New Jersey), I turned around. Had to go through one of those ubiquitous NJ traffic circles, where I can never remember who has the right of way. Got honked at, so I guess I got it wrong again. Just past there, a cop car had someone pulled over. I slowly passed, looked at the car and realized it was N! I called her on the cell phone–she’d gotten pulled over for “careless driving” for failure to yield in the circle. Yikes! At least her husband laughed when she told him. Mine wouldn’t have.

    I’m getting a complex.

Someday you’ll find time for lunch with your other friend from NJ, who also lives about 20 minutes from the Flemington outlets…

    guess who ;)
