We’ve been having some pretty wild storms here the past few nights, and last night was the worst yet. There were tornadoes in southern Indiana and in the county next to us. School was cancelled in our county today. I know for a fact that BD’s school didn’t have water all day, because we didn’t, either. However, that was a minor inconvenience compared to what a lot of other people are going through–there were 23 homes destroyed and dozens more with damage in the next county. Mr. B, HS & I were at a meeting half an hour away, so BD was home with a sitter. When we found out there was a tornado warning, I called and was relieved to find out they were already in the basement. Advice to anyone thinking of moving to this area: do NOT buy a house without a basement!
We did take advantage of our unexpected day off to see Shrek 2. We tried for the first show, which is cheaper, but it was already sold out. We ran into some friends there, so we all got tickets for a later show and went to Wendy’s for lunch. Fun movie–and be sure to wait through the credits!
We’re off to a Bats game tonight–I hope we avoid another night of storms!
